After Galveston and Goose, we are calling this part of our trip the island tour. Mustang Island park was also rebuilt after hurricane damage. We have never stayed here, but have visited. We were lucky to have good weather to walk on the beach. I'm beginning to think I'm beach-addicted. However, I don't care for the many Portuguese man-of-war that lay dead on the beach. I'm guessing the cold weather got them. They were everywhere and the park had a warning about them.
We returned to Leonabelle Turnbull preserve in Aransas Pass. There were plenty of shore birds and we saw alligators.
We also walked along the pass itself and took the ferry a number of times. So amazing to think of the ships that pass through here and what they carry, headed to the port. We also spotted the lighthouse!
And we have all seen a side-car on a motorcycle, but have you seen a bicycle with a side-car for your best friend?
On our last beach walk, I found a “whole” sand dollar. We had seen many pieces and this is the first whole one I had ever seen or found. Yes, I was excited. Also on our last walk, we saw the rescue of a sea turtle that had been caught in the rocks. The park ranger was taking the turtle to be rehabbed.
We always see interesting RVs when we travel. This is one of the most strange.
