Kreutzburg Canyon Natural Area - December 27

rvtramm75

After walks around Pedernales, LBJ, Inks, Blanco, and Guadalupe, we were looking for a different walk. Kreutzburg is an area managed by the city of Boerne and borders on the Guadalupe River. There was a map, showing the major trails in the area. However, the map did not show all the alternate trails that meander through the area. We took a picture of the area map and proceeded to get lost on some of the alternate trails. What started out as a 1.5 mile hike turned into at least three miles uphill and downhill. The Guadalupe River here also shows evidence of the impact of floods through the area. After walking around and around and around, we finally crawled through a barbed-wire fence and walked along the road back into the park.
