Goose Island State Park - February 23

rvtramm75

All things change. The warm weather turned into the cold that arrived in Blanco first. We bundled up and went for a walk along the campground. A walk around the park found a caracara and a turkey vulture discussing fish. We also saw a man fishing as he waded in the Gulf. GAD, how cold he must have been and what a devoted fisherman.

Outside of the park is the local landmark, the Big Tree. There are some wonderful abstract art-shaped live oaks in the area. This one is alleged to be hundreds of years old. There are a few other trees in the area that seemed to be ready to take the big tree's place.

We did find Leo a bakery. I got the historical marker for Lamar, the small community that lies outside the park.
