Fort Wayne, Indiana

rvtramm75

We traveled to Fort Wayne for their farmer's market. Wow, the farmer's market was located in a small park near a major General Electric plant. The plant is being demolished and new development built in its place. That seemed the story of downtown Fort Wayne, lots of new development.

Fort Wayne's Riverfront area is another place where the development is going crazy. However, the area along the St. Mary River, called Promenade Park is very cool.

One of the first transcontinental roads across the United States for cars was the Lincoln Highway. The road extended from Times Square, New York to Lincoln Park in San Francisco. The road was conceived of by an Indianan, Carl Fisher, in 1912. The highway went through Fort Wayne.
