Chain of Lakes RV - Bellaire, MI - July 1 to July 8 Part One

Alden

There are a number of small towns around Grand Traverse Bay that cater to the summer population. We walked around Alden and enjoyed the sights.

There is a program of art installations around the town: some tiny and some large and all fun.

We were also in the middle of a mayfly hatch.

Here are some other interesting sights around the town.

Bellaire

Bellaire borders Lake Bellaire, part of the Chain of Lakes. The area is called Chain of Lakes because you can put in and, via a series of lakes, go all the way to Lake Michigan and onto the Atlantic. No, we did not do this. The city does have a nice walking trail and an interesting courthouse. To me, it looks more like a church than a courthouse. According to the marker, over 20 years were required to agree on which town was the county seat.
