Leo and Al broadcast a "Parks on the Air" from Cosby Camp in the Smokys. On the way there, we crossed the Appalachian Trail. Extending from Georgia to Maine, the Appalachian Trail is a 2,200 mile hiking trail across the eastern United States. In our travels, we have talked to people who want to or have, hiked the trail. Usually, hikers walk part of the trail, returning home to hike more at a future time.
I walked about 10 yards along the trail. No, I don't plan to return in the future for another 30 feet!
The area around Crosby Camp has plenty of hiking through the woods. Mary Alice and I walked along a nature trail in the park while Leo and Al worked the radio.
We found evidence of a stacked stone wall and Big Foot.
