Abilene State Park – November 14-17

rvtramm75

After having some electrical problems, we found a repair shop that would see us. After getting two new batteries (OUCH!), we found our way to the state park. On the way to the park, there were housing additions and soon-to-be housing additions.

An amazing amount of growth is happening in Abilene. We saw at least four areas that were designated senior housing units.

On the way to the park, we passed through Buffalo Gap. I kept thinking that Buffalo Gap sounded familiar. As we approached the park I saw why - Perini Steak House. The place has been written up so many times, I doubt they need to advertise.

Shortly after we settled into the park, I got a text from friends Paul and Kathy Howard. They were traveling to New Mexico across Interstate 10, which runs through Abilene! They pulled over for the night and we had a good visit with lots of catching up.

Plus, we got to see their new home on wheels.

Since we were one week out from our anniversary and knew we were going to the mountains, we celebrated at Perini’s. Oh, gosh. We shared a ribeye. Our sides were green chili/cheese hominy, garlic-roasted potatoes, and salad. Oh, my gosh!!
